WHAT YOU GET
Included with every study are:

  • Personal Prep for the leader;
  • Group Guide (Lesson Plan) for leading the group session;
  • Reproducible Student Section
  • Uncommon Prayer support;
  • INNERgized Web Help.

  • Personal Prep- As the leader, you'll experience God's Word for yourself through a guided inductive study. This isn't a "lesson out of a can"—and we're not apologetic about it. We believe that many of the problems faced by today's teen generation are the consequences of a biblically illiterate faith. Teens want to be challenged! Be prepared.
  • Group Guide- The Group Guide provides a clear, easy-to-follow guide for leading an invigorating group session with lasting results. After you've experienced the Word for yourself in your Personal Prep, the Group Guide will help you lead your students in similar discoveries.
  • Student Section- In each one-hour session, students will spend most of their time interacting personally with Scripture using their Bibles and reproducible sheets. Group discussions are focused more on what God has said in His Word than on opinions and speculations. The goal of each session is not just "good discussion," but life-changing impact!
  • Uncommon Prayer Support- A nationwide group of prayer partners will be praying for you! By clicking Uncommon Prayer you can submit info that will help InWord’s prayer team pray specifically for your group. You’ll also find encouraging tips for enlisting personal and local prayer support.
  • INNERgized Web Help- Your purchase of an InWord study gives you password access to that study's web support-downloadable/reformatable student pages, optional exercises, insights, background info and long-term application ideas. Every group is unique! Use InWord's INNERgized Web Help to tailor your group's experience in God's Word to their specific needs.

WHAT YOU NEED

  • One InWord study book for each group

  • Colored pencils (2 to 3 colors per student)

  • Whiteboard (and markers)

  • Bibles and pens (Students should bring their own.)

When doing an InWord study, we recommend that you purchase half-inch, three-ring notebooks for each student. You can get these at office supply stores and they're not too costly. Your group members can personalize these and use them to keep track of their journal pages and Scripture sheets. This notebook will become a personal journal of their experience in God's Word.

THE GROUP SESSION
Designed to last about an hour, the group session will consist of:

  • Significant time observing and meditating on Scripture.

  • Engaging, focused discussion of what students learn in the Word.

  • Life-changing application exercises.

PARTNERS IN PRAYER
Don't even think about taking on a Bible study effort without the support of relentless prayer. We have people across the country praying for InWord Bible study groups like yours. By clicking Uncommon Prayer you can submit info that will help InWord’s prayer team pray specifically for your group. You’ll also find encouraging tips for enlisting personal and local prayer support.

Without proper prayer support, knowledge gained from a study of God's Word can lead to pride. With proper prayer support, knowledge will lead to transformation.

ONE YOUTH MINISTER'S STORY
Carol, a youth worker, was searching and praying for a Bible study to feed the teens in her ministry who were hungry for God. One day she and her dad, a pastor, had an impromptu Bible study over the phone-a habit of theirs-of 2 Timothy, the book she had considered using with her group.

Later that same day, Carol's dad suddenly passed away. With 2 Timothy now alive in her heart, Carol was convinced that this was the book she wanted to study with her students. The question was how. Carol knew of InWord's teen study 2 Timothy and the Stuck Locker Door. So with a quick call to InWord, she began an amazing journey with a handful of hungry students.

"We met on Sunday afternoons," Carol shares. "Parent volunteers picked up lunches for us, and we dove into the Word of God. The kids were eager to use InWord's inductive approach-getting alone with God, marking Scripture sheets, and reflecting on how God was speaking to them individually."

As the weeks progressed, Carol saw transformation before her very eyes. Student leaders were emerging. Spiritual passions were discovered, and giftedness was explored. New ministries were launched. Within a few weeks of completing the study, Carol's students determined to launch a monthly worship service for their unchurched peers, form a youth worship team, and organize a puppet ministry to children. The number of adult volunteers involved in Carol's ministry doubled.

Here's the kicker: Jessica, one of the initial handful of hungry teens, didn't have a relationship with Jesus. Out of curiosity she attended the sessions, and shortly after the close of the study, she committed her life to Christ.

Could this happen in your youth ministry? Why don't you ask the Lord how He wants to speak to your students through His Word. Then trust the fact that He will!

"My kids were blown away when I read them a note from an InWord prayer warrior—the note included the kids' names!"

"What an impact it had on our students to receive a card from our prayer warrior. What a terrific idea. I've bought a lot of different curriculum and never had any company go that extra step."
