Experience the Peace of Easter

March 13, 2018 By Barry

It’s striking that the first word out of Jesus’ resurrected mouth to His disciples was simply “Peace.” It could have been a lot of things. It could have been admonishment. It certainly could have been “I told you so!” But…it was “Peace.”

Yes, “Peace be with you” was a standard greeting in Jesus’ day. But we have no record of Him using that greeting with His disciples. Until now. At this crucial moment in history. A moment when both cosmic and personal peace can be enjoyed. So, let’s enjoy it.

We’ve pulled together a few Easter tools for you to use in your life and in your ministry, tools to help you experience the peace that Easter can bring. You’ll find a few personal Bible exercises, a video Scripture retreat, and a devo to share with your students.

Easter and peace go hand-in-hand. In fact, they are so synergistic we could coin a new holiday name: Peaster!

Well, maybe not. Enjoy the tools.

TRY THIS:

Small group exercise

Whether Jesus was speaking literally or figuratively when He told His disciples to wash each other’s feet, there is great power in taking Jesus literally. Use this exercise to give your students a few moments to think very concretely about the quality (sacrificial) and the quantity (unlimited) of Jesus’ love.
