Description

What Is Truth?

Ever since Pilate posed this question to Jesus, every generation has asked it in its own way. Today’s postmodern generation has a follow-up question: does truth matter? Preventing Truth Decay will help your students find answers. You’ll explore the deceptions of relativistic thinking and see how that mindset runs counter to the message of Christ. Each session explores a key aspect of “truth decay” and equips students to combat it with the best tool we have—God’s Word.

Exposing the Lies

Colossians warns, “See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy.”  Preventing Truth Decay exposes the world’s captivating and deceptive philosophies by engaging students with the living truth of God’s Word.  Rather than providing a comparative study of world religions or exercises in apologetics, this study teaches students to think biblically while equipping them to recognize counterfeit “truths” on their own.

 Testimonials:

“We used Preventing Truth Decay on our senior high winter retreat. Great retreat! Probably one of the best I have experienced in 20-plus years of youth ministry. The material was excellent. We saw some major breakthroughs in several areas. Thanks so much!”  Steve, youth worker, Staten Island, NY

“We’re on the fourth session and our high school guys are eating this up. It’s been awesome!”  Matt, youth worker, Ft. Wayne, IN

“We are doing Preventing Truth Decay and I have to say I love it! Your approach will grow our students and teach them the Word. It’s the best way I know to do inductive Bible study with youth. This is awesome!”  Zola, youth worker, Elmhurst, NY

Additional information

Physical (book) and/or Download (PDF)

You can order a book, or a PDF, or both. It’s all according to your and your leaders’ preferences. You’ll need a book or a PDF for each study group. Each option has its pros and cons. One note: if you order a physical book you can still download the student pages for reproducing (you’ll find a password in the book for access to these pages).

Physical (book)

Leaders need one book per group. Student pages are reproducible and still downloadable (you’ll find a password in the book for access to these pages). Pros: It’s already printed out for you and ready to go. This is probably the best set up for personal study. You don’t need access to an electronic device. Cons: It’s obviously a little more costly and keeping track of a book may be less convenient than keeping track of a PDF.

Download (PDF)

Leaders have permission to use one download per group. For example, if you have four groups involved in a study, we ask that you purchase four “downloads.” Student pages are reproducible. Pros: It’s obviously less costly and more portable; depending on how your personal computing is set up, a pdf can be “cloud” based. Cons: Typing your thoughts/notes into a PDF can be a bit clunky and more difficult to use in leading your session.
